This 15-week upper division program is for students interested in transferring credits to their home universities. PEAL (Programa de Estudios Argentinos y Latinoamericanos) offers introductory upper division courses in cultural studies, social sciences, literature, popular culture, history, tango, film, service learning, Spanish & Portuguese language and linguistics, all of which focus specifically on Argentina and Latin America and are conducted fully in Spanish. PEAL is held twice a year: Spring (Early March - Mid June) and Fall (Late July – Early November).
Full-time students have to take a minimum of four courses. Courses meet twice per week for 90 minutes each class and take a total of 60 hours to complete. A minimum of six students is required for each course.

PALAS (Program in Argentine and Latin American Studies) offers introductory upper division courses in economy, cultural studies, political science, social sciences, human rights, gender history, literature, history, film and Spanish & Portuguese language, all of which focus specifically on Argentina and Latin America and are conducted in English (except language courses). CERTIFICATE IN LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES
The Certificate in Latin American Studies distinguishes students who are willing to transform the semester abroad into an academic experience of excellence. The Certificate is available for students taking five courses (300 academic hours) and eager to conduct research at the undergraduate level. They will be required to submit a 10-15 page research paper in English (PALAS) or Spanish (PEAL) and register with a Directed Research Tutor Professor. This requirement can be completed up to six months after the semester has ended, and students can renew their time extension for another six months if necessary.
